2016 here we come! I am so excited to get going on all the exciting learning ahead of us. I hope you all had a relaxing Christmas break and I wish you all the best in 2016.
We have some changes coming up in our classroom in the next few weeks as Mrs. Pocock is retiring on Friday, January 15, 2016. We are very grateful for all the amazing work she has done this year with us and wish her all the best in her retirement.
You should have all received a notice yesterday about Mrs. Wengel taking over Mrs. Pocock's position for the rest of our year together. If you would like to meet Mrs. Wengel and get to her know her more. She will be available on Thursday January 14, 2015 from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

We will be diving into the world of non-fiction books this month and trying our hand at animal research. We have started to think about the animals we want to be researching and I am encouraging them to bring information or books to share and use in the next few weeks. We are excited to get started!
In math we have also started to explore the wonderful world of subtraction! Encourage your child to share with you the strategies they are learning to subtract and add numbers between 1-20. We have quite the group of Mathematicians!
Here's to a great first week back and as always please email or drop in at the school if you have any questions or concerns!
